To be honest, the year 2019 was really a blessing in my life. First of all, I got a golden opportunity to represent my college at the 2019 MICE Destination Marketing Contest organized by the International Trade Institute, Taiwan External Trade Development Council (TAITRA), Taipei dated September 17-19, 2019. It was my first fully sponsored overseas academic trip! I gave a presentation cum speech at the International Convention Centre,Taiwan pitching my idea about how the next big MICE event can be organised in my home state Assam properly explaining about the resources and their efficient utilization. I got to exchange my ideas with brilliant teams from other countries (around 16 countries from all around the world participated in the event!).


The next big thing, perhaps the biggest of all, happened when my application to Stanford University's 2020 Summer Session got accepted! Not only that, my proposal of an early-stage start-up also got selected for the Silicon Valley Innovation Academy (SVIA) which was a part of the Summer Session programme! I cried in happiness that day, I mean who doesn't know about Stanford University! It is almost every student's dream to enter Stanford's campus once in their lifetime!


However, since good things do not last long, after about half-a-month from the selection day the pandemic COVID-19 broke out! Situations became worse day by day and finally with a heavy heart I was forced to take the decision to not attend the Summer Session! It was just next to impossible to travel from Assam,India to the US during these harsh conditions as the entire nation was in a lockdown phase and travelling was too risky. I became terribly sad but I had to accept the truth, there was no other way! The selection of the courses for the Summer Session was scheduled to take place online in the month of April and it wasn't really a good idea to select courses and make the required payments as I was sure that I won't be able to travel to the US during this period. Hence, the dream of entering the prestigious campus finally came to an end.The offer letter is being displayed in this section which is the only thing that I have with me now as a proof of selection to Stanford Summer Session 2020 and I really value that letter.
